The project known as The Esoteric Archive of Rochester has, for all intents and purposes, closed. I realized that I was falling into an old trap of mine: attempting to monetize a hobby, failing to monetize it, then associating my hobby with failure, and finally destroying my ability to interact with the hobby.
Maybe that’s something you can understand.
Therefore, before the poison of capitalism destroyed my ability to feel joy, once again, I felt the need to re-contextualize this project to what it was initially intended to be: a graphical interface to organize my collection of occult and esoteric and weird stuff. That’s the phase we’re in now. Make it work better for me. Make it an interface and layout and vibe and stuffs that are more Forest Wizard and less Official Business Identity.
- This transition will be ugly. Sorry. But, from your end, very little will change.
- The existing digital collection is and will continue to be freely available to everyone, always. In fact, the full archive download is available freely in the blog right now!
- The lending library will continue on, with lending freely available to trusted friends (that includes everyone who was a member of the Patreon! I love you!)
