Important Locations in Early Spiritualism – Map and Guide

This free, printable map highlights eight locations in downtown Rochester that are important to the development of Modern Spiritualism. The back side of the map details why each location is notable.

You’ll learn where the Fox Sisters lived while in the city, where the first mandates from Spirit happened, where they performed their first public display of mediumship, and, ultimately, where the first organized Church to Spiritualism stood.

To print at home: Set margins to “none,” print on both sides, flipping on the short side.

Sharing guidelines: This map is free to use and distribute as you see fit. Please do not alter the map in any way.

Charm to Suppress Liars

A favorite book of mine in the Guerrilla Library is The Power of the Psalms by Anna Riva. It’s a 1980s classic that looks at the Book of Psalms as a powerful grimoire. Each psalm has suggested ways to use the poem in part or in whole for a variety of different purposes.

I’ve shared a few of these charms on social media. Verse 6 of Psalm 58 is used to suppress liars and is accompanied by a short spell.

First, write the name of the person spreading lies about you in the middle of a square piece of paper.

Then, you take verse 6 (“Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD”) and write it in a circle around the name, such that there are no spaces and the letters appear to be a part of one long word.

Fold the paper up such that the writing is on the inside.

Lastly, tie the paper closed with black string.

Tuck this charm away somewhere safe and know that the person in question will no longer spread lies about you!

I absolutely love this charm, but I couldn’t write the verse in a circle for the life of me. To simplify things, I made this PDF with 12 circles on cut-out-able squares. Suppress liars by the dozen!
